About this article: In PickTrace, terminating an employee means archiving their profile. Archiving automatically assigns a Termination Date and closes their current employment period. The date can be adjusted afterward if needed.
How To Terminate an Employee
- Go to the Employees page.
- Select the employee (or multiple employees) to terminate.
- Right-click and select Archive Employee (red down arrow icon).
- The system automatically sets the Termination Date to today.
- To adjust the date: open the employee profile and select Edit Termination.
Finishing Payroll for a Terminated Employee Mid Pay Period
f you need to process a termination, use the Employee tab to select only that individual and download their data separately, without generating a full payroll export. On the Payroll export modal, directly below the employer selector, you'll see three filter tabs, use the following:
- Employee – Download payroll for one or more individual employees.
| 📋 Employees must be archived before their Termination Date can be edited. If you need to set a past termination date, archive first, then edit. |
